Great to hear it as I'm more familar with their hard driving material and live shows, this giving listeners an experience of their controlled chaos, psychedelic subtlety, with driving rhythms heavy on the mood and groove, vocals artfully obscured or subtly making suggestions in the background. Black Presence 20th Anniversary Edition 12"Vinyl LP (Originally released October, 2002, Dopamine Records) A 10-part collection of hypnotic and amorphous, mostly instrumental tracks, featuring a wide range of guest musicians on largely improvised songs.

The album was created from a combination of live drum and bass grooves, layered improvisation, editing, audio manipulation and mixing. Basic tracks were recorded live to 1/2" 8-track tape at Bluebird's rehearsal space in Glassel Park, CA. Guest musicians include Dave Catching (QOTSA, EDOM, earthlings?), Mattias Shneeberger (The Twilight Singers, The Gutter Twins, earthlings?), J. Yuenger (White Zombie) and Josh Hughes & Andrew Rothbard (Pleasure Forever, The VSS), who were also recorded live to 8-track. Additional recording and all mixing took place at Dark Brown studios, Pasadena, CA. Recording & mixing took place between October 2001 and January 2002.
